The meal led to a conversation about the need to show the best of Latino contributions to the United States.
The concert, Rise Up as One, was held on Saturday afternoon in the open air near the busiest border in the world.
“Music has a universal power to unite,” said Kevin Mills, Univision’s vice-president of digital strategy and one of the organizers of the concert.
These women represent the everyday people who live along the US-Mexican border, although it is difficult to explain this normality to the rest of the country.
“Go out and vote, it is the only way they will respect you,” Los Tigres del Norte added.
