Ecuador has 8,300 English-language teachers and needs 2,800 more for the beginning of this school year on the coast, which begins in May 2017.
Espinosa, who has been in charge of the ministry for three years, says the new initiative is one of the accomplishments of the administration of President Rafael Correa.
