Dozens of migrants denounced National Institute of Migration (INM) agents in the Istmo de Tehuantepec and Oaxaca regions for exercising intimidation and persecution even with CBP appointment procedures.

This Saturday, around 11:00 in the morning, about 15 migrants traveling on a bus from Juchitán, Oaxaca, were apprehended by the INM even when they showed their CBP appointment.

The migrants also accused the Autobuses de Oriente (ADO) transport company of selling them tickets when they know in advance that they will be disembarked, and they lamented that they are colluding with immigration agents.

«It’s easy for them to get us off the units and deport us, they don’t know how much effort of days and weeks it takes to gather the cost of the ticket, and for them to take us off just like that,» they said.

It is important to mention that in press release 185/23, dated March 21, 2023, it was reported that the INM authorizes passage to foreign migrants with confirmed CBP appointments.

The migration flow through the southern border began in October 2023, and since then, at least migrants from at least 10 countries have arrived, including from South America, Central America, Africa, China, Russia, India, among others.

According to authorities, between 800 and 1,200 migrants enter daily who are requesting a humanitarian visa to continue their journey and reach the United States in search of the «American dream.»

In addition to improving their economy, they migrate for education, health, the climate, and also to exercise their free and full sexuality.
